Compounding is the art and science of preparing custom medications. Each patient is different, and not everyone responds to traditional treatments the same way. - If a patient has allergic reactions to certain preservatives, dyes or binders
- Dosage strengths for patients with unique needs (for example, an infant)
- Medications that require flavor additives to make them more palatable for some patients, most often children.
